Eco-Friendly
The world is a beautiful place
and Envelopments is doing
its part to keep it that way.

For us, being green isn’t a trend, it’s a lifestyle. It’s not new, it’s the way we’ve always done business. And in the realm of premium paper, that’s no easy task. From our “greenovated” offices to our eco-friendly product mix, making responsible choices influences all that we do.

No matter the color of our products, they’re all green. We strive to work with companies that support sustainable forestry and/or use alternative energy in production. Most of the papers in the Envelopments collection have components of recycled products and are made without chlorine chemistry. By eliminating chlorine, the pulps have a high tear and fiber strength. The stronger the paper, the great it’s ability to be recycled.

This year, we’re excited to release 3 stocks that are made with 100% post consumer fiber, and 9 stocks that are 100% tree-free made from either cotton or bamboo fibers. We carefully maximize the yield of each stock and remaining trim is donated to local community organizations or art schools for raw materials.

We’re environmentally conscious even when it comes to shipping our products. All of our packing materials are biodegradable or recyclable. Made from natural vegetable starch, our packing “peanuts” can be dissolved in water or planted into a compost pile.

On top of that, Envelopments actively seeks ways to shrink our carbon footprint. All of our Dealers/Designers get online statements and invoices. And with the exception of our Featured Samples, our offices are mostly paper free. We’ve equipped our desks with dual monitors to discourage wasteful printing of emails and reports. We encourage online and electronic archiving to reduce the number of paper files.

And then there’s our corporate office. We started with an existing building and retrofitted to our eco-friendly standards. Our building uses less electricity than comparable facilities thanks to motion detectors that shed additional light only as needed. We’ve even designed our building to incorporate large-scale windows and skylights that flood work areas with natural light. And unlike most companies, Envelopments has long-abandoned paper plates and plastic utensils. We have an energy efficient dishwasher and use actual plates.

At Envelopments, we aim to do business the right way. The care we put into maintaining a fresh, inspirational design collection is matched by the importance we place on helping our associates, business partners and customers thrive—all while respecting the health of our natural environment.
